The new location, the eighth in Los Angeles, will move into the first floor of the Westfield Topanga & The Village, next to Briella. Owner Paul Hibler, who also owns American restaurant The Win~Dow, tells What Now Los Angeles he expects to open the new location sometime this Summer, likely in July 2022. The new Canoga Park location will replace Jimmy’s Famous Tavern. Guests can expect a large island bar plus indoor and outdoor seating in a 5,000 square-foot space.

This isn’t the only new Pitfire Pizza on the way. The company has three other locations coming to Southern California, including one coming to San Pedro’s West Harbor Waterfront in 2023. Hilbert also plans to open a location in Orange in the last half of 2022, as well as one at Carlsbad at The Beacon La Costa in early 2023. This isn’t the only new feature coming to Westfield Topanga & The Village, either. The shopping mall has a new AMC Theaters coming, as well as a Dan Modern Chinese.

“This growth represents a next chapter in the Pitfire story, one that could not have been started without the achievements of so many great leaders and efforts,” Jeff Goodman, CEO of the parent company, American Gonzo Food Corporation, tells The OC Register.

Hilbert founded Pitfire Pizza in 1997 from a corner in the North Hollywood Arts District. The thin-crust pizza shop quickly became a pillar of the community and started to expand throughout Los Angeles. All locations feature the menu’s 12 sourdough crust pizzas, available to be customized any way the customer would like. The company also has vegan and gluten-free options like house-made vegan cheese and cauliflower crust.
