Designed by Bucilla Group Architecture, the 106-foot-tall, 46,741-square-foot hotel development will rise in place of a vacant, 7,829-square-foot lot at 1130 South Hope Street. Along with more than 100 guest rooms, plans call for features including a lobby and reception area, conference room, business center, and roof deck, along with several lounge and exercise areas. The hotel building will also include 528 square feet of ground-floor retail space, plans show.

The city’s approval follows support being given from the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council for the current version of the project, which was initially proposed as an 11-story, 144-key hotel before Domyan introduced plans for a smaller project earlier this year.

The project will provide 23 automobile parking spaces, according to planning documents.

Also involved is project representative Dana Sayles of consulting company three6ixty.

Sitting on the eastern side of South Hope Street, the project site was acquired by an affiliate of Domyan last year for $6.5 million, according to Los Angeles County property records.
